Kai was the Prince to the civilization of Neptria. While he still is, the people who once called him a Prince no longer exist in the civilization.

He grew up being told that his purpose was to protect his people. To make sure they would be able to flourish. Yet. Kai never truly cared. He wanted to explore the ocean and take care of these creatures he deemed Sluggies. He was only a kid, and being a kid made him have a distant towards being a protector of the civilization. Kai only wanted to be a kid. Even so his parents tried to teach him how to look over the civilization. They tried to get him to pay attention in classes, yet Kai only found himself failing to pay attention. Though their efforts were not for nothing. Kai came out learning how to read, write, and most of all, with the knowledge that he didn't want this.

When he wasn't in school he was roaming the surrounding area, exploring the caves and coral nearby. During one day he stumbled upon the species which he nicknamed Sluggies because his young mind failed to think of anything else. He brought some home one day to the shock of his parents. They didn't force him to remove them on the condition that he would focus more on his school studies. Kai agreed, but never shifted his attention on the history, english or the math his parents wanted him to study. Nothing was able to get their child to care for his responsibilities.

The Prince continued to grow, and he continued to ignore the words from his parents and the people around him. Believing that just because he was born with his power doesn't mean he should be forced to live this way. Kai wanted to live his life the way he wanted. Not what he was "destined" to do. The civilization around him grew weary of the one who they were told that would be protecting them. Kai ignored it, and instead focused on what he enjoyed, exploring and taking care of Sluggies. Even if the adults around him were disappointed. Later on Kai would end up regretting this. Wishing he spent more time with the ones around him, even if they wanted him to be their protector.

His parents only succeeded in getting Kai into reading, as he enjoyed looking through a book during his downtime. He always enjoyed looking for a nice place to read, but this interest only grew more as he grew. This interest only bloomed due to Kai's biggest disaster in his life.

While Kai was asleep, a pirate raid was taken upon the civilization, attacking them while weak. While there was no grown protector of the sea. Kai woke up to ruins, chaos, and screaming in his house. When he headed out of his room he found the captains of the pirates demanding his parents to give them the Heart of The Sea, or the civilization would fall. Kai, scared and confused, panicked, at first not moving as he watched them fight. Only to watch his parents die as they refused to give their son up to the pirates.

In a fit a rage and shock, Kai attacked the pirates. While he was smaller, and less in experience. He used his rage and the heart inside of him. Tentacles bursted out of his back as tears fell down his face. Scared and afraid, Kai killed the captains right there before running out of his home. The sight scarred him. He was too late. He told himself that couldn't protect them all because he failed to listen to what they wanted him to do. He successfully helped scare the raiders away, yet wished that he could have been faster.

The after-match stung just as bad as the original event. Only a few other people remained, most either fleeing right away or dying in the raid. Kai helped clean up what remained of the fallen. Bringing them into a area where they all could rest. Kai left the pirate remains to be eaten and devoured by the sea. Only after the mess was cleaned up did the remaining survivers decide to leave. They offered Kai to come along with them, telling him that they needed to move on. That they needed to move towards the next civilization and restart again. That the pirates would only come back. Kai, unable to let go of the place he once grew up, and the place he was told he needed to protect refused to move along. The adults tried to force Kai but failed to get him to budge.

Kai stayed behind, unable to mentally detach himself from the place he once grew up. The place he was once told to protect. He was now alone, only him and the Sluggies remained to watch over the fallen civilization. For the first few weeks it felt strange. He was used to the movement around him, even if he himself didn't contribute much to it. After the first month he started to regret not spending more time with his parents. Understanding they just wanted the best for them. Maybe if he actually listened to them and studied and trained they all would be alive. Kai blamed himself and he had no one to tell him that it wasn't his fault.

As time passed and Kai grew older, his interests shifted towards attempting to build back the civilization, hoping that if everything was back to normal then people would come back. He also grew more interested in reading, slowly going through his parent's library. Using the books as something he could use to connect to his parents even after they were gone. The last major interest he obtained was one that he enjoyed since he was a kid. Now that Kal was alone, the one creatures that accompanied him was the Sluggies. They flourished in the ruins, giving Kai company. Their different personalities brought him joy, giving him something else to look forward to in the ruins. The one interest that changed was Kai's interest in exploring. He found no more joy into exploring the nooks and crannies of the area around him. Part of it because he grew up, and part of it because he felt like he already explored it all. Un-wanting to go out any further from his home.

He stayed stagnant in the ruins, refusing to leave. Meanwhile, without him knowing, a rumor of a monster protecting treasure started to form. Multiple different ships tried to get towards the ruins of Neptria, and each time Kai panicked, being filled with rage of only believing that they wanted to hurt him and what he worked towards. Kai destroyed any ship that passed near the ruins, not paying in mind of what kind of intentions they had. Kai's reputation continued to grow into one of a monster. A mob that protected the treasure. A monster said to not care who passed over. Each ship would end up with holes in the bottom until they left or sunk. The rumors were correct, Kai didn't care what ship he was attacking, but he wasn't a monster. He was a man who has been griefing for years. Unable to move on.

Abilities

The Heart of The Sea that resides within Kai allows him to manipulate the ocean and his own body in multiple different ways. These ways include:

• Limited Body-manipulation: Kai has the ability to shapeshift his body in limited forms. Giving him the ability to manipulate his body, allowing him to form tentacles from his back. In which he uses to help destroy ships. As the grip is extremely deadly. This ability has been the reason why the form of a kraken like monster has been protecting the treasure.
• Limited Body-regeneration: When resting in the ocean, Kai's body has a better regeneration than others. Healing from wounds faster with a better heal rate; however, whenever he is outside the water his body fails to use this ability. Salt water has a better regeneration than fresh water. This ability has been the reason why the rumor of the unkillable monster is protecting the treasure.
• Gift of The Ocean: Has the ability to gift the ability to breathe underwater, the ability of Depth Strider and Aqua Affinity. The longer Kai is around the gifted user, the longer the gift lasts. If around for long enough, the gifted user will be granted it for the rest of their life.

Weaknesses

• Kai's body is unable to handle most food from the nether. His body being allergic to warped, and crimson mushrooms. Along with feeling weakened when in contact with blaze rods and blaze powder.
• Traveling to the nether makes Kai's heart feel lost. His body feels weakened and sluggish without knowing that a body of water is nearby. Making traveling throughout the nether dangerous to him to the point that the nether dimension is only an afterthought to Kai. As it is a death sentence if he got lost or overwhelmed.
• Due to Kai's aquatic nature, anything with impale on it will work better against him. If targeted his tail it would work the best.
